Why a Stand Mixer is a Baking Essential for those Who Cook?

Among the best legacies a grandmother hands down to her kin are her recipes. As you take on your family’s timeless recipes, you don’t have to cook or bake the same way they did generations ago. With today’s technology, a stand mixer is the one cooking or baking essential that every kitchen should have. So, if you don’t own one, then it’s time to buy one of the top stand mixers on the market.

Advantages of a Stand Mixer
A stand mixer promises many advantages that can make you the next kitchen buff of your family. First, a stand mixer allows hands-free mixing. As it does the painstaking job of whipping the ingredients together, you can work on other things—perhaps blanch some vegetables or attend to the oven.

Second, a stand mixer mixes evenly the ingredients together. If you’re accustomed to using a hand mixer, then you must be familiar with the challenge of ensuring that the mixer reaches the entire contents of the bowl. However, you don’t have to fuss over this anymore if you have a stand mixer.

Third, you are guaranteed more mixing speeds. Your stand mixer can go from the delicate task of beating egg whites to the forceful chore of kneading dough.

Fourth, you can work with less mess in your kitchen. A stand mixer is designed to remain steady even when in the course of rigorous mixing. Thus, you avoid spilling or splattering the bowl’s contents.

What to Consider Before Buying A Stand Mixer for the Cooker in Your Life?
Before you go shopping for a stand mixer you should decide exactly what you need a mixer for? Are you more of a bread baker or a cookie maker and how often? Set a budget for you to work around as well.

The best stand mixers to buy are those operating with planetary action—that is, as the beater spins on its axis, it also revolves around the bowl. This motion allows more contact between your ingredients and the beater, and between the beater and the bowl’s inner surface. This way, the ingredients are mixed uniformly, and you don’t have to scrape off the ingredients that stick to the sides of bowl.

Another thing that you must consider is the machine’s weight; it must be heavy enough to be stable even when in the process of mixing. It’s equally important to check the bowl’s capacity. It should be at least 4.5 quarts, enough to handle a double-recipe of cookie dough. It’s a good bonus if the bowl comes with a handle, as pouring your mixture will be an ease. In terms of speed variations, the best stand mixer offers at least 5 different speed settings. Lastly, the best machines come with a set of attachments like the paddle, the dough hook, and the wire whip. These give the machine a broader range of functions.

Which stand mixer brands are better?
In deciding which brand of stand mixer to purchase, you have to weigh out the factors mentioned above. Perhaps the most popular brand among stand mixers is Kitchen Aid. The KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer is the best choice with a roomy six-quart stainless steel bowl, and metal parts encased in plastic. It comes with a C shaped dough hook. It’s extremely easy to use. You can go with this brand as it offers both quality and durability at a reasonable price.

Another worthy brand is Bosch, a six-quart stainless steel bowl, metal parts, and a set of attachments. Moreover, the stand mixer is already set in a fixed stainless steel counter model. It’s much more expensive than the first brand, but it’s the best choice if you’re leaning more towards bread making.

Lastly, you can check for Hobart models, which has gained popularity for commercial purposes. It flaunts a single speed motor with three gear shifts, with its highest speed way beyond those of other mixers. The beaters also get much more contact with the bowl—a feat not observed with the first two brands. It’s the most expensive of the three, but with its top performance and durability, it proves to be a wise investment for those with restaurants.

Go for a stand mixer that suits your food-making needs and preferences. As you spice up your kitchen with a great stand mixer machine, baking and cooking your grandmother’s recipes or your own have never been easier.

Kitchenaid Artisan Stand Mixer Review

My review of my new Kitchenaid Artisan stand mixer.

Would you recommend KitchenAid's stand mixers?

Hello :)
So, i’ve wanted to buy a stand mixer for the longest time. and i’ve been looking at a lot of brands, but i have no idea what to go with!
i loved the KitchenAid mixers, they seem to be of great quality, and i have to admit… i like the colors!
so i was already picking the color to buy from amazon, when i read a review by someone who said that after a while their mixer started leaking grease or oil from the gearbox box into the food!
and unfortunately when i googled it, it turned out to be a very common problem :|
& since i was planning to buy it online because we don’t have KitchenAid here in Saudi Arabia, i got a bit worried, that i wouldn’t be able to get it fixed anywhere if something happened to it, since it’s a not very common brand here.

Do you think i should buy it or not?

What is the best way to make home made bread?

I have an unusual affinity for bread. I currently have one of those automatic bread makers. I’m not asking for recipes, per se, because I have several I use and like very much. I guess I am asking should I nix the mixer and try to roll out my own dough and such. How difficult is that? Is the final product that much better than using an automatic bread maker?
